Primary And Secondary Research - Unit 3

1. Media products are expensive to produce.
2. Need to make sure that it will attack the right audience.
3.To make sure the audience reacts to it in the right way.
4. To ensure can be completed.

Primary:
Questionnaires, focus groups,user groups,postal surveys, customer interviews, test market technology  interviews.

Pros:
New first hand information, exactly what you want.

Cons: Expensive requires money and time.

Examples of secondary research:

Internal sources
Financial, company reports, Files, Letters, Customers, Phone calls.

External: Trade associations,reference materials, internet, Newspapers.

Secondary:
Pros: little effort or preparation cheaper to obtain.
Cons: Information may not be exact information out of date.


Product research:
You are creating  a new perfume for professional men,aged 18-25 years old, living in Britain?
1. what do you need to research
what Fragrance is most popular
How much they are willing to pay
Look/design
Ethics
