Assignment 1 and 2 THOUGHTS Mrs Frost

I have enjoyed assignment 1, because I felt happy with the advert I choose to work with. Also, I liked assignment 2 because we worked in groups, therefore we got the opportunity to show our skills through teamwork. Both assignments were good fun because we got to experience the pre-production in assignment 1 and in assignment 2 we were able to allocate our team to different roles to make the presentation. Assignment 1 was the pre production of a new advert we were making. Assignment 2 was presenting to L'Oreal what we (McCann Erikson) can offer. Lastly, both assignments went to plan and went well, I enjoyed learning new techniques such as prezi and pre-production skills and also enjoyed working within a team and presenting our ideas for a new, fresh advert.

Assignment 1 PREZI MRS FROST

Harvard Referencing: MR COOPER 15/10/15

1. What is it?
2. How are quotations/ information from books, websites and films referenced (Tittle, Author, Date)
3. Importance of Bibliography ( FIND EXAMPLES)

1. Harvard referencing is a system which allows facts, statistics and quotes to be copied into your work with quotation marks. The referencing is also known as the Author and Date system. This shows , you have to add a reference of where you found the information along with who wrote it with the date. Sources that you have used along with your assignment  have to be shown at the end of your work to show where you found your research.

2.  Quotations and information taken from books, website and films - are referenced with the Harvard referencing system. When quoting from a book you should make sure you add the page number, Date and Author of the book. Websites have to be referenced like books too, along with the Date, Writer and article. Films are referenced with the method of embedding, for example say the writer of the film and then embed the quote, then add the films name along with the date in brackets.

3.  EXAMPLES FROM http://community.ucreative.ac.uk/article/27216/Example-of-a-Harvard-Bibliography

CREATIVE BREIF SONY BRAVIA MRS FROST

BTEC Media – UNIT 1 PRE PRODUCTION Techniques:

Sony Bravia:

The situation:

Mccann London is the advertising company which advertises Sony Bravia. The wide screen TV advertisement allows people to want the newest gadget.

Target Audience:
Adults 20 plus. Young teenagers will become interested in the new wide screen and will therefore tell their parents to purchase the item for them.

Communication:
Mccann London allows us to witness the Sony Bravia wide screen. We want the TV to be on the list for buying, and engage the target audience in a new life of TV.

Big Idea:
A new TV which is good for the whole family. The TV provides better colour, quality of features and screening. the advert shows the exciting screen come to life.

What we want them to do:

Buy the new screen for enjoyment and entertainment.

Purpose of the Advert:
The purpose of the advert is to try and persuade the target audience to buy the newest wide screen.

Tone of work:
Modern, new and fresh to give off a vibe of a new gadget. An easy light tone will always get the audience to feel comfortable with the advert and will engage them.

Average cost of TV Adverts:
Ranges from £60 to £200 plus. The price depends on the advert and the client.

What the advert consists of (content):
An exotic location with many mountains and hills. The materials included thousands of flower bright petals, to show the wide screen consists of great colour. The sounding is proved to be amazing by the music flowing with the petals moving from the open space to the downhill of the mountain. The petals flow through a peaceful river proving you can hear the TV in quiet places. Then the petals flow through a busy neighbourhood  area showing you can hear the Tv in an area with lots of people. This proves that the TV sounding is amazing in quiet places aswell as loud places.

Common British Independent Films and themes. AND. British Urban Independent Cinema

Common British Independent films and themes:

In this lesson we had to research British Independent films along with themes. When researching the films that are made in Britain we had to look closely at the themes. For example, the theme of the Kings Speech is, Monarchy. Moreover, by looking at certain films we where able to understand the themes such as, Class society. After Researching we where able to make Prezis (which are uploaded above) The Presentation made on British Independent films and themes gave me the ability once the lesson was over to have the understanding of what themes mean besides settings. I enjoyed this lesson as it allowed me to learn new topics within Creative Media. Before this lesson I had not heard of British independent FILMS. Therefore, I was happy that I researched and learnt about the British Independent film industry with themes.

British Teen Urban Independent Cinema:

In the following lesson I began making a prezi on British Teen Urban Independent Cinema, I started to research the top twenty Urban Independent films made in Brittan. Whilst making the prezi and researching the films, I added trailers off the movies. Also, I mainly talked about the Genre of the film whether it be Drama or Discrimination. Secondly, I added history to the prezi's, by adding history it allowed me to understand why the film was made. For example, Pressure 1975 had the history off the first women becoming prime minister in Britain, known as Margret Thatcher. Not just national history used, I also interpreted film history to as why the film was made. I enjoyed making this prezi as it allowed me to understand City films. The British films made in a well known city gave me the understanding of different film making. For example, the film Fish Tank showed me the background of many lives past and present in the UK. This film showed a young girl use dancing as her therapy as she suffered family problems. Moreover, I enjoyed this lesson as I was a successful lesson  finding Genres and history along with trailers. Lastly, the lesson gave me an insight to why films are made in cities along with different Genres and the history behind the film nationally and personally.

Lastly, the lesson was a very useful as we learnt new things to be added towards our assignment.

I enjoyed learning new and different things about what happens before production.

Creative media Btec:

So far creative media has been interesting. Also, after just two lessons I have learnt how to use wordle and blogger. I feel I will enjoy creative media as I would like to learn how to use many features such as a camera, photoshop and other equipment.

Also, I am looking forward to learning how magazine covers, cd covers and dvd covers are designed. Moreover, I would like to know why certain films have themes which go so well with settings and characters the producers choose.

The course interests me because I am looking forward to learning new topics in an industry which I have little knowledge about.

But at the same time of being excited I am also nervous as you don’t know what to expect in each assignment.

Moreover, I would like to get to know this course and become excited when it comes to making many projects.

Creative media btec seems interesting as its coursework based and not exams. You are doing the work as you learn which is easier and shows more of an interest.

It is interesting to learn something new which you have little knowledge about and to see how ambitious you become towards a subject.

Therefore, my first impressions of Creative media btec is great. I am  hoping to take Creative media into my career in the future.

I am looking forward to getting to understand covers of Magazines and why they are laid out who they are. Also, I am interested to see how a Magazine appeals to people. The first thing people see is the cover, therefore what makes them buy it.

Lastly, I am excited to start the course and I hope it becomes a great interest of mine in the future.
