Assignment 2: Unit 57: People and Places: Health and Safety Risk Assessment.

Health and Safety Risk Assessment:

When taking photos, many complications and hazards can arise. I will be taking pictures in a school lunch queue setting, therefore there are many hazards which can cause harm; therefore we need to prevent the harm from happening.
The complications and hazards which could unfold during my photo shoot range from minor hazards to major hazards such as:
  • Steam could ruin the camera and equipment being used.
  • Wires which connect the hot plate to the kitchen, people and I could trip over these wires.
  • Some people may not be allowed in a photo.
  • Food could go on the equipment resulting in damaged property.
  • Health reasons such as Epilepsy, you don't know who suffers from flashes or lights.
  • People pushing the lunch queue resulting in damaged equipment.
These are the complications and hazards which could take place during my photo shoot, however there has been a health and safety risk assessment done due to the type of setting. But anything could happen, therefore it is important to be careful at all times when using equipment near food, students and in a busy packed area. To conclude it is important to know what you are doing before taking the pictures to make sure everything is in place such as no students being in the photo if they have health issues.
